Sometimes I forget how far I’ve come.

At one point I just figured I’d have to accept that feeling anxious, overstimulated, and “on edge” was just my personality.
I didn’t realize my body was stuck in a constant state of fight or flight.
I thought that if I could just push through, try harder, keep it all together, I’d finally feel better.

But it never worked.
The more I pushed, the more disconnected I felt.

Learning how to reset my nervous system changed everything.
I started noticing the subtle cues my body was giving me before I spiraled.
I learned ways to regulate my emotions so I could respond to life instead of react to it.
And slowly, I felt safe in my own body again.

This morning was full of so much gratitude and excitement.

I had an idea, and it just kept flowing. One thought led to another, and before I knew it, I had mapped out so much of what I want to bring to life. It felt so good.

And then… time flew by.

It’s only the second day of summer break, and my daughter was getting restless (understandably). So we headed to the park, and it was really sweet to just be there. Feeling grateful, watching her play, soaking in the moment.

But if I’m being honest…
Later today, my heart also felt heavy. A little off. A little sad. Maybe I’m releasing something. Maybe it’s the come down after that rush of creativity. Maybe it’s something deeper.

That’s the thing about life...it’s not either/or. It’s both.
The contrast. The high of inspiration, the feeling of gratitude, and the ache of being human.

Gratitude isn’t pretending everything’s okay.

Today I paused, stepped outside, and let my feet sink into the earth. The sun on my skin, toes in the dirt, and a moment to breathe.

Today I paused, stepped outside, and let my feet sink into the earth. The sun on my skin, toes in the dirt, and a moment to breathe.

When I feel overwhelmed, stressed, or emotional, I come back to the earth.
It’s one of the most simple yet powerful ways to regulate your nervous system.

Grounding (or “earthing”) helps your body:
🌿 Reduce cortisol (your stress hormone)
🌿 Reconnect with natural rhythms
🌿 Calm the mind + lower anxiety
🌿 Balance the nervous system
🌿 Promote sleep and emotional stability

It doesn’t have to be fancy.
Just feet to the ground, breath in your body, and permission to be still.

If you’ve been feeling overstimulated or disconnected lately, try grounding.
Let your body be held by something steady. Let the earth do her work.
