Bruschetta is definitely one of my guilty pleasures. And really, should I feel that guilty with all those fresh ingredients (minus the yummy baguette )? Luckily for me, I just have to buy the ingredients and it magically appears. Just kidding, my sweetie makes it just for me (he knows how obsessed I am with it ) . So I wanted to share this delicious recipe because everyone should be able to experience this goodness and share an extra punch you can add to kick it up a notch.
What you need:
4 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced 4 large tomatoes, diced 1/4 c. thinly sliced basil 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar 1/2 c shredded parmesan 1 tsp. salt
Mix all the ingredients together and refrigerate for a couple hours. This gives it time to marinate together into a delicious pop of flavor. For the baguette either buy pre-sliced garlic crostini’s or slice up a baguette and mix up a batch of melted butter and fresh garlic, brush onto baguettes and broil until brown and crispy. Are you ready for the extra punch? This is completely optional but will add even more flavor to this recipe… Basil Essential Oil! Just add 2 drops (literally you only need 2) to your recipe and mix in. For some reason essential oils seem to pop the flavor of a dish into soo much more. I do the same thing with Cilantro for my Greek chicken. And there you have it, a delicious bruschetta to devour.
