RECIPE: Simple Smoothie Bowl


Making a smoothie bowl used to intimidate me. All the recipes I had seen had ingredients that I typically wouldn't have on hand. And then I found this simple recipe. The cool thing about smoothie bowls is that that you can get creative. You can choose the fruits and type of milk you prefer and top it with whatever sounds yummy. Here's our version with simple ingredients:


1 cup Frozen Fruit (we like berry medley)

1 scoop Protein Powder (we use the doTERRA chocolate usually)

1 Banana

1/4 cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (any milk works)


Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse/blend. So typically I eye the ingredients but the key thing to remember with a smoothie bowl is to not add too much liquid. You need enough so it will blend but too much and it's runny. So it's better to start with less and add more as needed.


Then we top ours with fresh fruit and granola. You can also do things like bananas, almonds, cacao nibs, chocolate chips, chia seeds, cinnamon or even hemp hearts for extra protein and omegas. The skies the limit.
